Bisbee-Lowell Evergreen Cemetery

This cemetery is maintained by the City of Bisbee Public Works Department. They can be reached at 520 432 6002 and 6004. Located in Bisbee, a short distance past the mine near Route 80 from Bisbee to Douglas. It is just north of Route 80 on a side road. Data on the cemetery is drawn from four sources (1) an index of the old part of the cemetery supplied by Mrs. Lillian Banchi (2) a survey of the entire cemetery made by Mrs. Banchi (3) records of the Hubbard and Dugan mortuaries (4) a publication of the Arizona State Genealogical Society in 1969, compiled by Mrs. Thomas Salyer from the preceding three sources.

Because mortuary records were used, some of the dates given as death dates may, in fact, be dates of burial. Likewise, for the same reason and because the mortuaries served other nearby communities, some of those listed as buried here may really be interred elsewhere. There is also confusion because there was a cemetery called Lowell Evergreen that had 2158 names in the records. It turns out that only 17 were not dupicates. If there was any possiblity of the names not being duplicates, I left it up to the reader. This is such a huge file (10,218 names), I broke it up into sections so it would load easier.

Some of the sections referred to are the W.O.W. (Woodmen of the World), I.O.R. (Internal Order of the Royal Moose), I.O.O.F. (International Order of Odd Fellows), K of P (Knights of Pythias), L.O.O.M. (Loyal Order of the Moose)and A.O.U.W. (American Order of United Workers).
